So, you think you know competitive Halo, eh?  I'm sure when you hear the terms "competitive Halo" you close your eyes and picture maps like Sanctuary, The Pit, Midship, Lockout, or the smaller maps of old.  What if I told you that you were programmed to believe that's the only form of competitive Halo there is, when in reality it is much, much bigger?

Big Team Battle doubles the meager 4v4 variants and pits two teams of eight players against one another, featuring a much more expansive offering of the Halo sandbox.  And yes, it's competitive too.

BigTeamBattle.net is hosting a Prize Money tournament this spring with the help of DaveEasily, to pit 8 teams against one another for a $1000 grand prize.  Although at its heart, the tournament is an invitational, excess teams can battle through a play-in tournament the day before the official tournament on May 4th.  Check out full details at the official BTBnet forums sign-up thread:

Matches will be a Best of 5 for Round 1 with the latter two rounds as Best of 7s, featuring a sampling of gametypes from the Official BTBnet Fileshare.

Don't miss your chance to assemble your seven (to eleven) closest friends to create a roster for your chance to compete in the BTBnet Spring 2013 $1000 Tournament!

Be ready, though, as BTBnet veteran team (and 4-time champions) Wake Up are looking to defend their crown, among the likes of Master Theory and Sudden Death.  But if you can secure your spot in the tournament and make it past these veterans of BTB, you and your team will earn a share of the $1000 pot up for grabs this Spring!

This is my opinion, not the official opinion of Halotracker

Doubt it.  Not gonna lie to you here, but there are a few players in that tourney thing that people refuse to play with.  Its really that simple.  Countless people have said this over at Btb.net...but yet you refuse to listen.  You will never get BTB bigger until you deal with this issue.

Play with & against are two different things. And we aren't going to "banish" people based on personal differences. (and BTB has been getting MUCH bigger in case you hadn't noticed)

People just need to get over their egos and just play

Has nothing to do with egos.  It has to do with the reputation that they have from the past.  Its that simple.

I'm not saying its all bad.  The maps and settings are great, and play awesome.  But with the last few tourneys, how many new players have you really attracted?  Because it seems like the same bunch of people as before.

It does have to with ego's and personal grudges. You aren't playing WITH them, they aren't your teammates. They are on other teams, so who cares about "reputations"? Can you name any other competitive environment where one team refuses to play another because the players don't like each other? That's rhetorical, because in any other environment, that only makes them want to play more. We currently have 15 teams signed up for the tourney, and 7 of them are new, we also have 3 vet teams that are adjusting rosters so they can sign up, and 3 more new teams that are doing the same. that would leave us with 21 teams in this tourney (two of which are made up of combined MLG/AGL pro teams). That's hardly the "same old group".
